Job Description
As the Community Engagement Lead – Infrastructure at Lendlease, you will be instrumental in fostering positive relationships between our infrastructure projects and the communities they impact. You will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive community engagement strategies, ensuring effective communication, consultation, and collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders. This role requires a proactive and empathetic approach to address community concerns, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for mutual benefit, ultimately ensuring our projects are delivered with community support and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic community engagement plans for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for community members, local authorities, Indigenous groups, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and information sessions.
- Manage community feedback channels, including complaints and inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Prepare detailed reports on engagement activities, outcomes, and community sentiment.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate community feedback into project design and delivery processes.
- Identify and mitigate potential community impacts and risks associated with infrastructure development.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key community leaders and groups.
- Contribute to the development of social performance and sustainability initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or public affairs, preferably within the infrastructure or construction sectors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and sensitive community issues.
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
- Proficiency in developing and executing engagement strategies.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Social Sciences, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of cultural protocols.
- Familiarity with local government planning and environmental regulations in Western Australia.
- Project management certification or experience.
