Job Description
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Mining Plant Operators to join our dynamic team in the Orange, New South Wales region. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global leader in the mining sector, offering top rates and comfortable accommodation. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring various machinery within our mineral processing plant, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Your dedication will directly contribute to our production goals and maintain our high standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor heavy mobile equipment and fixed plant machinery, including crushers, conveyors, screens, and loaders, according to operational procedures.
- Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections, and basic maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential faults.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, site rules, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor plant control systems and make necessary adjustments to optimize throughput and product quality.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Accurately complete logbooks, shift reports, and other relevant documentation.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a mining or similar industrial environment.
- Proficiency in operating at least two of the following: crushers, screens, conveyors, loaders, excavators, or dump trucks.
- Strong understanding of mining safety procedures and hazard identification.
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification or certificate in mineral processing, plant operation, or heavy vehicle operation.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with SCADA systems or other plant control software.
- HR (Heavy Rigid) or HC (Heavy Combination) class driver's license.
