Job Description
Tasmanian Minds Psychology is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychologist, either provisionally registered or with general registration, to join our growing team in Moonah. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base across various mental health presentations within a supportive private practice setting. For provisional psychologists, comprehensive supervision will be provided to facilitate full registration. General psychologists will benefit from peer support, ongoing professional development opportunities, and autonomy in managing their caseload. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality psychological assessments and interventions, contributing to our mission of promoting mental wellness in the Tasmanian community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and formulations.
- Developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Providing individual and group therapy for a diverse range of mental health conditions.
- Maintaining accurate and timely client records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Collaborating with other health professionals and external agencies as required.
- Participating in regular clinical supervision (for provisional psychologists) or peer consultation (for general psychologists).
- Engaging in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
- Adhering to ethical guidelines and professional standards set by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
Required Skills
- Current provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
- Demonstrated ability to conduct psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) check or willingness to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a private practice or community mental health setting.
- Proficiency in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments.
- Experience with a variety of therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, EMDR).
- Medicare provider number or eligibility to obtain one (for general psychologists).
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology or a related field.
