Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Financial Data Analyst to join our dynamic Investment Banking team, focusing specifically on Top Aussie Rates. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with complex financial data, conduct in-depth market analysis, and contribute to critical decision-making processes within a leading financial institution. The successful candidate will be instrumental in extracting, transforming, and interpreting large datasets to identify trends, forecast market movements, and support trading and strategic initiatives related to Australian interest rates and fixed income products. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong quantitative skills, and a solid understanding of financial markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and process large volumes of financial data related to Australian interest rates, bonds, and other fixed income instruments.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models and analytical tools to support investment banking activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify market trends, risks, and opportunities in Top Aussie Rates.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards summarizing key findings for traders, portfolio managers, and senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with front office teams to provide data-driven insights that inform trading strategies and risk management decisions.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all analytical processes and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of market developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting financial data analysis and investment banking.
  • Assist in the automation of data collection and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial data analysis, quantitative analysis, or a similar role within investment banking or financial services.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel VBA).
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, particularly Australian interest rates, fixed income, and derivatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial modeling and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or CFA designation (or progress towards).
  • Experience with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon).
