Job Description
Join Cleanaway as a Green Waste Sorter and play a crucial role in our mission to recycle and manage green waste effectively. This full-time outdoor position requires a physically fit and reliable individual to work at our processing facility in Logan Central. You will be responsible for manually sorting various types of green waste, ensuring contaminants are removed, and materials are prepared for composting or further processing. This is a hands-on role that contributes directly to environmental sustainability, offering stable work and weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort green waste materials, including branches, leaves, grass clippings, and garden organics.
- Identify and remove non-compostable items and contaminants from the green waste stream.
- Operate basic sorting equipment or machinery as required, after training.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily sorting targets.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support waste processing operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Attention to detail for identifying different waste types.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management, landscaping, or a similar outdoor role.
- Knowledge of different green waste materials and contaminants.
- Current Driver's License and reliable transport.
- First Aid certification.
