Job Description
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Virtual Payroll Assistant to join our team in an ongoing casual capacity. This is a 100% remote role, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to our clients’ success from anywhere in Australia. You will be responsible for supporting our payroll services, ensuring accurate and timely processing for a portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients on a casual, as-needed basis.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, superannuation, PAYG withholding, and other deductions.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding payroll tasks.
- Maintain accurate employee records and payroll data.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and clients.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports.
- Stay updated with changes in Australian payroll legislation and awards.
- Support year-end payroll activities and reporting.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Xero Payroll, MYOB, KeyPay).
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and awards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or similar qualification.
- Experience with multiple payroll systems.
- Prior experience in a professional services or accounting firm environment.
- Familiarity with various industry awards and enterprise agreements.
