Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior Venture Capital Analyst to join our finance team in Canary Wharf, London. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for venture capital and innovation. The Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our investment professionals through comprehensive market research, financial analysis, and due diligence efforts, contributing to our mission of identifying and backing the next generation of industry-defining companies across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth market research on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscapes across target sectors.
- Perform financial modeling, valuation analysis, and comprehensive due diligence for potential investment opportunities.
- Prepare detailed investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for the investment committee and partners.
- Assist in the monitoring and performance analysis of our diverse portfolio companies.
- Support senior team members with deal sourcing activities, including market mapping, outreach, and relationship building.
- Collaborate with internal teams on strategic projects, industry reports, and investor relations initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, suitable for reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis, and PowerPoint for presentations.
- Ability to conduct thorough research, synthesize information efficiently, and articulate findings clearly.
- Demonstrated interest in venture capital, technology, and financial markets.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive work ethic and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, STEM, or a related field with a strong academic record (2:1 or higher).
- Prior internship experience (e.g., in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or a top-tier consulting firm).
- Basic understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and investment principles.
- Familiarity with the European startup ecosystem is a plus.
