Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Vegetable Packers to join our on-farm team in Swan Hill for ongoing, immediate hire. This is a critical role ensuring our fresh produce is carefully selected, packed, and prepared for distribution. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic outdoor and pack-shed environment, contributing directly to the quality and efficiency of our operations. No prior experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be provided to all successful candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully select, sort, and pack various vegetables according to quality standards and specifications.
- Operate basic packing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality checks on produce to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Label and prepare packed produce for shipping and storage.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Assist with other general farm duties as required, including light harvesting tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Physical fitness, including the ability to lift up to 15kg and stand for long durations.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing, warehousing, or agricultural environment (not essential, but valued).
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation to the farm location.
- An understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
