Job Description
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government relations and public policy within a leading global professional services firm. The Policy Analyst Intern will support our Government Relations team in monitoring policy developments, conducting research, and assisting with advocacy efforts related to our various industry sectors. This placement is ideal for students seeking to understand the intricate intersection of business, policy, and government.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at local and national levels relevant to PwC's operations and clients.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on key policy issues, preparing concise summaries and briefings for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in drafting policy position papers, reports, and presentations for various audiences.
- Support the Government Relations team in scheduling meetings, preparing comprehensive materials, and following up on engagements with policymakers and their staff.
- Attend relevant parliamentary sessions, committee hearings, and industry events (virtually or in-person as required) to gather insights.
- Contribute to internal communications and knowledge sharing initiatives on public policy matters, fostering a well-informed team.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, Law, or a closely related field.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for professional and policy-focused environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document creation and data analysis.
- Demonstrated keen interest in public policy, government affairs, or political processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a policy-related role, government office, think tank, or advocacy group (e.g., prior internships, volunteer work) is a plus.
- Familiarity with UK parliamentary procedures and government structures.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
