Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Specsavers Liverpool as an Optical Dispenser, where you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and expert advice. This hybrid role combines the dynamic environment of retail with the precision and care required in a clinical setting. You will guide our customers through their eyewear journey, from frame selection to lens fitting, ensuring their visual needs are met with the highest standards of professionalism and a friendly approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpreting optical prescriptions and recommending appropriate lenses and frames.
- Assisting customers with frame selection, considering style, fit, and lifestyle needs.
- Performing accurate measurements for lens fitting and adjustments.
- Conducting spectacle adjustments, repairs, and maintenance.
- Providing expert advice on contact lenses, eyewear care, and various lens options.
- Managing administrative tasks, including patient records and appointment scheduling.
- Maintaining a clean and organised retail and clinical environment.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and professional standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Optical Dispenser or in a similar optical retail role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of optical products, lens types, and frame materials.
- Ability to accurately interpret optical prescriptions.
- Customer-focused approach with a genuine desire to help.
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Optical Dispensing or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with specialist optical equipment.
- Familiarity with Specsavers' internal systems and products.
- A passion for fashion and current eyewear trends.
