Job Description

Bell Canada is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Physician to join our corporate health team in Montreal. This pivotal role focuses on promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our employees, providing expert medical guidance on workplace health matters, and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a supportive corporate environment, contributing to proactive health initiatives and responsive case management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational health assessments, medical surveillance, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  • Manage and provide expert medical advice on complex disability cases, return-to-work programs, and accommodations.
  • Develop and implement health promotion and wellness programs tailored to the corporate environment.
  • Provide clinical oversight and guidance on workplace injury and illness prevention strategies.
  • Advise management on occupational health risks, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
  • Participate in incident investigations and provide medical input on root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with HR, Safety, and other departments to foster a holistic approach to employee well-being.
  • Respond to occupational health emergencies and provide medical guidance.

Required Skills

  • Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
  • Specialist certification/Fellowship in Occupational Medicine (e.g., FRCPC or equivalent).
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the province of Quebec.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-specialization experience in occupational health, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant occupational health legislation and standards (e.g., CSST/CNESST in Quebec).
  • Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is highly preferred due to the location.
  • Additional certifications in related fields (e.g., Public Health, Disability Management).
  • Experience with large, complex organizations and diverse employee populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in health policy development and program implementation.
