Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Jetty Maintenance Helper to join our coastal construction team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This entry-level role is crucial to the upkeep and integrity of vital marine infrastructure. The successful candidate will assist experienced technicians and engineers with a variety of tasks related to the inspection, repair, and maintenance of jetties, piers, and other coastal structures. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in civil engineering and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with maintenance and repair tasks on marine structures, including timber, concrete, and steel jetties.
- Perform general labour duties, such as site preparation, material handling, and equipment cleaning.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Support the installation and removal of temporary works and access equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections for damage or wear on structures and report findings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in team meetings and safety briefings.
Required Skills
