Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Industrial Relations Assistant to join our corporate team in Wodonga. This role provides essential support to our Industrial Relations specialists, assisting with research, compliance, policy implementation, and dispute resolution. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining positive employee relations and ensuring adherence to industrial awards and legislation across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the interpretation and application of industrial awards, enterprise agreements, and legislation.
- Conduct research on industrial relations issues, trends, and legal updates.
- Prepare and maintain accurate industrial relations documentation, including case files and reports.
- Support the resolution of workplace disputes and grievances by providing administrative assistance and information gathering.
- Collaborate with HR business partners and legal teams on industrial relations matters.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IR policies and procedures.
- Organise and minute meetings related to industrial relations discussions and negotiations.
- Provide general administrative support to the Industrial Relations team.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Australian industrial relations principles and legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated research and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a human resources or industrial relations support role.
- Familiarity with HRIS or case management systems.
