Job Description
Are you passionate about animals and eager to kickstart a career in pet care? Petbarn in Port Hedland is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Dog Grooming Offsider to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with no prior experience in grooming, as you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship. You will play a crucial supporting role in our grooming salon, learning the ropes of professional pet grooming while ensuring the comfort and safety of our furry clients. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills and contribute to the well-being of pets in the Port Hedland community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist professional groomers with bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the grooming salon.
- Handle animals with care, patience, and a calm demeanor, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process.
- Prepare grooming tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Monitor pet behavior and report any concerns to senior groomers.
- Assist with customer service tasks, including checking pets in and out, and answering basic inquiries.
- Learn and adhere to all salon safety and animal welfare protocols.
- Support the grooming team with various ad-hoc tasks as required.

- Current first aid certification (human or animal).
