Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Cattery Hands to join our dedicated team at the RSPCA NSW Dubbo Care Centre. This role offers flexible casual shifts, perfect for individuals looking for meaningful work with animals without a rigid schedule. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, happiness, and cleanliness of our feline residents, providing them with the best possible care as they await their forever homes. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily feeding and fresh water for all cats.
  • Clean and maintain cattery enclosures, litter trays, and common areas to the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Monitor the health and well-being of cats, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
  • Administer medication as directed by veterinary staff (after training).
  • Socialise and play with cats to ensure mental and physical stimulation.
  • Assist with the intake and discharge of cats.
  • Perform laundry duties related to cattery operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of cat care and daily activities.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love and compassion for animals, especially cats.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Physical fitness to perform duties including bending, lifting, and prolonged standing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working or volunteering with animals.
  • Knowledge of basic cat behaviour and welfare.
  • First Aid certificate.
