Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Tunnel Operations Support professional to join our team in Griffith. In this critical role, you will assist in the effective and safe management of traffic flow within and around tunnel infrastructure. This position involves monitoring systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures to maintain seamless and secure passage for all road users. You will work closely with traffic management teams, emergency services, and maintenance personnel to uphold the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor tunnel operations systems, including SCADA, CCTV, and traffic control devices, to detect and respond to incidents.
- Implement and adjust traffic management plans as directed, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum safety.
- Liaise with emergency services during incidents, providing accurate information and coordination support.
- Conduct regular inspections of tunnel equipment and infrastructure, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of all operational activities, incidents, and system performance.
- Assist in the deployment and recovery of temporary traffic control measures as required.
- Support the ongoing training and development initiatives for operational procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for tunnel operations and traffic management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a traffic management or operations support role, preferably within infrastructure or transport.
- Strong understanding of traffic control principles and practices.
- Ability to interpret and apply operational procedures and safety guidelines.
- Proficiency in using monitoring systems (e.g., CCTV, SCADA) and communication tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and incident reporting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Traffic Management or a related field.
- Experience with incident response protocols in a tunnel or major road network environment.
- Knowledge of local NSW road rules and transport regulations.
- First Aid certification.
