Job Description
Are you enthusiastic about bicycles and eager to learn the ropes of professional bike mechanics? Bike Force Fremantle is looking for a motivated and passionate Bicycle Mechanic Trainee to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience but a strong desire to build a career in bicycle repair and maintenance. We will provide comprehensive on-the-job training, mentorship, and support to help you become a skilled bicycle mechanic. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with routine bike maintenance and repairs.
- Learn to inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot bicycle issues.
- Clean and organize the workshop, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Assemble new bicycles according to manufacturer specifications.
- Assist customers with basic inquiries and bicycle fitting under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Participate in training sessions and continually develop mechanical skills.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for bicycles and cycling culture.
- Eagerness and ability to learn new mechanical skills quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Basic understanding of tools and their safe use (preferred, but not required).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with basic hand tools or mechanical hobbies.
- Customer service experience.
- Knowledge of different bicycle types and components.
