Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting summer job that combines working outdoors with a fantastic social scene? Dive Centre Manly is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Dive Boat Helpers to join our team for the upcoming summer season. This role is perfect for individuals who love the ocean, are keen to learn, and enjoy being part of a vibrant, adventurous community. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring smooth boat operations and providing an excellent experience for our divers and snorkelers. No prior diving experience is required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to help!

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the boat skipper and dive instructors with pre-trip preparations, including loading gear and supplies.
  • Provide general assistance to divers and snorkelers on board, helping with equipment, safety briefings, and comfort.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dive boat and equipment throughout trips.
  • Support the crew in mooring and unmooring the boat, and other general boat duties.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers on board under the supervision of the skipper.
  • Assist with post-trip tasks, including unloading gear, cleaning the boat, and tidying up.
  • Engage with guests, contributing to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere on every trip.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift moderate weights (e.g., dive tanks).
  • Enthusiasm for marine environments and outdoor work.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, during the summer season.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic knowledge of marine safety procedures.
  • Experience in a customer service role.
  • PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent (not mandatory, but a plus).
