Job Description

Service NSW is seeking a highly efficient and accurate Government Data Entry Operator for a critical 6-month contract in our Griffith office. This role involves processing a high volume of sensitive government data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with strict protocols. You will be an integral part of a team responsible for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of vital public records, supporting various government initiatives and services. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while upholding the highest standards of data security and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-volume data entry from various physical and digital sources into government databases with precision and speed.
  • Verify accuracy of entered data against original documents and correct any errors or inconsistencies promptly.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all data protection regulations, privacy acts, and government protocols.
  • Organize, scan, and file documents, both digital and physical, ensuring efficient retrieval and proper record-keeping.
  • Assist with data cleanup, migration, and reconciliation projects as required to maintain data integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding data discrepancies, workflow issues, or project progress.
  • Meet daily and weekly data entry targets and deadlines without compromising accuracy.
  • Identify and report any system issues or anomalies that may impact data entry efficiency or quality.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in high-volume data entry or a similar administrative role.
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM with high accuracy).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eagle eye for identifying errors and discrepancies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cohesive team.
  • A solid understanding of data confidentiality principles and privacy regulations.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly motivated.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a government agency or similar public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with specific government database systems or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).
  • Completed a Certificate II or Certificate III in Business Administration or a related field.
