Job Description

Are you passionate about sound and eager to kick-start your career in live events and studio production? The Art House Wyong is offering an exciting Sound Engineering Internship. This hands-on placement provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain practical skills in a dynamic environment, and contribute to the success of diverse performances and events. You will be exposed to all facets of sound engineering, from setup and mixing for live shows to basic studio recording techniques and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior sound engineers with the setup, operation, and pack-down of audio equipment for live performances and events.
  • Learn to operate digital and analog mixing consoles, microphones, and other audio peripherals.
  • Support sound checks and rehearsals, ensuring optimal audio quality for artists and audience.
  • Assist with basic studio recording tasks, including microphone placement and signal flow.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inventory of audio equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues under supervision.
  • Collaborate with lighting, stage, and production teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and venue guidelines.

  • Basic understanding of audio principles and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree program in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with live sound or studio equipment (even personal projects).
  • Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
