Job Description
Are you ready to kickstart your career in the vibrant catering industry? Spotless Group is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Prep Hand to join our dedicated team in Werribee. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals with no prior experience who are eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will play a crucial role in assisting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of our catering services, working a consistent Monday to Friday schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation at all times.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as mixers, food processors, and ovens safely and efficiently.
- Wash and sanitise dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
- Properly store food items, ensuring correct labelling and rotation to minimise waste.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and health and safety regulations.
- Support the catering team with various ad-hoc tasks as required to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Ensure timely delivery of prepared ingredients to different kitchen stations.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – full training will be provided.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Good physical stamina, capable of standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights.
- Basic understanding of hygiene principles or a keen willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one upon commencement.
- Basic knife skills (even if rudimentary) would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in any team-based or customer service role.
