Job Description

As a Loss Adjuster (Assistant) – Technical Role, you will support senior loss adjusters in investigating and assessing insurance claims, with a particular focus on technical aspects such as property damage, engineering, and liability. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with a foundational technical background looking to build a career in loss adjusting. You will gain hands-on experience in site investigations, documentation, and reporting, contributing to fair and timely claim resolutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Loss Adjusters with on-site investigations of insurance claims, including property damage, liability, and engineering losses.
  • Collect and document evidence, photographs, and statements relevant to claims.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments of damage and technical scope of work required.
  • Support in the preparation of detailed loss adjusting reports and recommendations.
  • Liaise with policyholders, contractors, and other stakeholders under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and organized claim files and records.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical and adjusting skills.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant technical field (e.g., engineering, building construction, surveying, property management).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Australian Driver's License and willingness to travel locally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a technical support, site supervision, or similar role.
  • Understanding of insurance principles or claims processes.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes or construction standards.
  • Certifications in WHS or risk management.
