Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Event Ushers to join our team at Palace Nova Cinemas in Adelaide CBD. This role is perfect for students looking for flexible part-time work in a dynamic and exciting environment. As an Usher, you will be the face of our cinema and theatre, ensuring our patrons have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. You will assist with seating, provide information, maintain cleanliness, and respond to patron needs with a friendly and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and assist patrons with seating and general inquiries.
  • Scan tickets and direct patrons to their correct cinema or theatre.
  • Provide information about film schedules, theatre performances, and facilities.
  • Monitor theatre/cinema integrity during screenings/shows, ensuring a pleasant experience for all.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and evacuation if necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the lobby, theatres, and restrooms before, during, and after events.
  • Handle lost and found items according to company policy.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • A friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate stairs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or hospitality role is a plus, but not essential.
  • A passion for film, theatre, or live events.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic first aid knowledge (certification not required).
