Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Stable Hand with a genuine passion for horses to join our dedicated team for morning shifts. This is a vital role supporting the daily operations of our stables, ensuring the health, happiness, and well-being of our horses. If you are an early riser, eager to learn, and love working with horses, we encourage you to apply! No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided for the right candidate who demonstrates commitment and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform morning feeding routines and ensure fresh water is always available.
  • Clean and maintain stables, stalls, and surrounding areas to high standards of hygiene.
  • Turn horses out to paddocks and bring them in as required.
  • Groom horses, including brushing, washing, and picking hooves.
  • Assist with tacking up and untacking horses for exercise or treatments.
  • Monitor horses for any signs of illness, injury, or distress and report to senior staff.
  • Prepare feed and supplements according to specific dietary instructions.
  • General stable maintenance, including sweeping, tidying, and equipment cleaning.
  • Assist veterinarians and farriers during their visits.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for both horses and staff.

  • Ability to work early morning shifts consistently.
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physically fit and capable of demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to learning and developing new skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with horses or in an equestrian environment (desirable but not essential).
  • Basic knowledge of horse behaviour and care.
  • Experience with horse handling.
  • Current First Aid certification.
