Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality and Risk Lead to join our Aged Care facility in Warrnambool. This pivotal role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality and risk management systems, ensuring our services meet and exceed the Aged Care Quality Standards. The successful candidate will drive a culture of continuous improvement, foster a safe environment for residents and staff, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality and risk management frameworks and policies.
- Conduct regular internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks against Aged Care Quality Standards and other relevant legislation.
- Lead incident management processes, including investigation, analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Oversee the management of complaints and feedback, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Provide expert advice and support to staff on quality assurance, risk management, and best practice standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on quality, safety, and risk management initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on quality and risk performance to management and relevant committees.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing resident care and operational efficiency.
- Act as a key liaison during external accreditation processes and audits.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality and risk management role within the aged care sector.
- Thorough understanding and practical application of the Aged Care Quality Standards and other relevant legislation.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage quality systems and risk frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff, residents, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in incident management and root cause analysis techniques.
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Health Management, Quality Management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Quality Management, Risk Management, or Business Administration.
- Experience with accreditation and re-accreditation processes within aged care.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
