Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Nuclear Safety Administrator to join our specialized science sector team. This role is crucial in supporting the safe and compliant operation of our facilities, particularly those involved in nuclear research and development. The Nuclear Safety Administrator will be responsible for managing documentation, supporting safety assessments, coordinating training, and ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and internal safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of safety protocols within a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain comprehensive records of nuclear safety documentation, including permits, licenses, audits, and incident reports.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of safety procedures, policies, and emergency preparedness plans.
- Coordinate and track mandatory safety training programs for personnel, ensuring compliance and timely completion.
- Support safety assessments and inspections by collecting data, preparing reports, and assisting with corrective action tracking.
- Facilitate communication between safety officers, regulatory bodies, and internal departments regarding safety compliance matters.
- Organize and schedule safety meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes and action items.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assist in updating internal processes to maintain compliance.
- Provide administrative support to the Nuclear Safety department as needed, including data entry and correspondence.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a technical or highly regulated environment.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety).
- Familiarity with nuclear safety principles or experience in a nuclear facility.
- Experience with quality assurance systems and regulatory audits.
- Certification in safety administration or related fields.
