Job Description

Join the Canberra Honey team as a Seasonal Honey Processing Hand! This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a unique agricultural setting. We are looking for motivated and reliable individuals to assist with the crucial tasks of honey extraction and processing during our peak season. No prior experience is required, and all necessary protective gear and training will be provided to ensure your safety and success. This role involves working closely with our experienced beekeepers and processing staff, contributing directly to bringing our delicious honey from hive to jar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the uncapping and spinning of honey frames to extract raw honey.
  • Operate and maintain honey processing equipment under supervision.
  • Filter and prepare honey for bottling and packaging.
  • Clean and sanitise processing areas, equipment, and tools regularly.
  • Package finished honey products, ensuring quality control standards are met.
  • Follow all safety protocols and hygiene regulations diligently.
  • Assist with other general duties as required by the processing manager.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift up to 20kg.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Australian driver's license and own reliable transport.
  • Previous experience in a food processing, agricultural, or physical labour role (desirable, but not essential).
  • An interest in beekeeping or sustainable food production.
