Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grant Writer to join our dynamic team, working remotely within the community sector. This is a 100% remote position. You will play a crucial role in securing funding that supports our vital community programs and initiatives, both locally in Australia and internationally. This role requires a passion for social justice, excellent written communication skills, and a proven track record in grant acquisition to help us continue our mission of fighting poverty and inequality worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with Oxfam's mission and strategic goals.
- Develop compelling grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, and reports that clearly articulate project needs, objectives, and impact.
- Collaborate with program managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and data for grant submissions.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, submission deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Manage the entire grant lifecycle, from initial research to submission, follow-up, and stewardship.
- Ensure all grant applications and reports comply with funder guidelines and organisational standards.
- Monitor and report on the progress of funded projects, working closely with project leads to ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Grant Writer with a successful track record in securing grants for non-profit organisations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and grammatically correct proposals.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to identify relevant funding opportunities and gather supporting data.
- Proficiency in grant management software and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated understanding of the non-profit and community sector, with a passion for social justice issues.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Non-profit Management, International Development, or a related field.
- Experience working within the international development or social justice sector.
- Familiarity with the Australian philanthropic landscape and government funding bodies.
- Certification in Grant Writing or a related professional development course.
