Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Hospital Ward Support in the Public Health Sector. This vital role provides essential non-clinical support to nursing staff and patients within a hospital ward setting. You will play a crucial part in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, ensuring patients receive the best possible experience during their stay. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient mobility and transfers under direct supervision of nursing staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of patient rooms, common areas, and utility rooms.
  • Restock supplies in patient rooms and treatment areas, ensuring adequate levels are maintained.
  • Assist with meal service, including distributing meals, feeding patients who require assistance, and collecting trays.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, respecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Transport patients within the hospital as required (e.g., to appointments, procedures).
  • Assist with general administrative tasks on the ward, such as filing and answering calls.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and hospital procedures.
  • Report any concerns or changes in patient condition to nursing staff promptly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or similar qualification.
