Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic service team in Bendigo. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of commercial refrigeration systems for our diverse client base. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing various refrigeration equipment. This position operates on a service roster, requiring flexibility and the ability to respond to urgent call-outs. A fully equipped service van will be provided for all work-related travel. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting on commercial refrigeration systems (e.g., cool rooms, display fridges, ice machines).
- Execute repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance of components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
- Install new refrigeration units and associated pipework, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in an on-call service roster, responding promptly and efficiently to emergency breakdowns.
- Complete accurate service reports, job sheets, and maintain detailed records of work performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients regarding job status and technical advice.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Manage and maintain inventory of parts and tools within the service van.
Required Skills
- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning).
- Current ARCtick license.
- Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in commercial refrigeration.
- Proven diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical principles relating to refrigeration.
- Valid Australian driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various brands and types of commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and control wiring.
- Forklift license (LF class).
- First Aid certification.
- HVAC experience is a plus.
