Job Description
Are you a budding economist with a keen interest in financial policy and its real-world implications? UBS is offering an exciting Economist Intern position within our Financial Policy Analysis team in Zurich. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in analyzing economic trends, evaluating policy impacts, and contributing to strategic insights for one of the world’s leading financial institutions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and gather data on macroeconomic trends, financial markets, and regulatory developments.
- Assist in the analysis of financial policies and their potential impact on banking operations and client portfolios.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing materials for internal stakeholders and senior management.
- Contribute to the development of economic models and forecasting tools.
- Monitor and summarize key economic and financial news.

Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and economic policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g., R, Python, Stata).
- Previous internship experience in a financial institution or research-oriented role.
- Knowledge of German or French is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
