Job Description
Join T&G Global for an exciting summer opportunity as an Apple Thinning Staff member! We are seeking diligent and enthusiastic individuals to contribute to our apple harvesting season. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and size of our apple crop. You will work outdoors in a dynamic orchard environment, performing essential tasks to help us produce the finest apples. This is immediate hire for temporary summer work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully remove excess small apples from trees to ensure optimal growth of remaining fruit.
- Follow supervisor instructions regarding thinning techniques and desired fruit spacing.
- Work efficiently and meticulously to meet daily thinning targets.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Report any tree health issues or concerns to the orchard supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve collective goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and stamina for standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable transportation to and from the orchard site.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in orchard work or agriculture.
- Familiarity with apple varieties and thinning practices.
- First Aid certification.
- Ability to speak basic English for communication.
