Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Baggage Porter to join our dedicated team in Port Pirie. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of guest luggage and other items, contributing significantly to a positive guest experience within our hotel environment. You will be responsible for assisting guests with their baggage upon arrival and departure, delivering items to rooms, and maintaining a tidy and organised luggage storage area. This is a physically demanding role requiring the ability to lift and move heavy items regularly, as well as prolonged standing and walking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist guests with the loading and unloading of luggage from vehicles upon arrival and departure.
  • Safely transport guest luggage and other belongings to and from hotel rooms.
  • Provide information and assistance to guests regarding hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation options.
  • Maintain a clean and organised luggage storage area and front entrance.
  • Handle special deliveries and guest requests with efficiency and discretion.
  • Assist with minor errands and support other hotel departments as needed.
  • Operate luggage carts and other equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy luggage repeatedly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of the local Port Pirie area and attractions.
  • First Aid certification.
