Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Spa & Sauna Technician to join our team in Devonport. As a Specialist Service professional, you will be responsible for the meticulous maintenance, repair, and operational integrity of all spa and sauna facilities. This critical role ensures our guests enjoy a safe, pristine, and fully functional wellness environment. You will perform routine checks, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative maintenance programs, contributing directly to our reputation for luxury and guest satisfaction. This is an on-site position requiring a proactive approach to facility management and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and preventative maintenance on all spa, sauna, steam room, and hydrotherapy equipment.
• Perform diagnostic checks and carry out necessary repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the wellness facilities.
• Monitor water quality, temperature, and chemical levels, making adjustments as required to maintain health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
• Respond promptly to facility-related issues and guest concerns, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
• Collaborate with the spa management team to schedule maintenance and upgrades, minimizing impact on guest operations.
• Ensure compliance with all local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide clear communication to guests and staff regarding facility status or planned maintenance.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new spa and wellness equipment as needed.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role, preferably within a hospitality or wellness environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing spa and sauna equipment.
• Knowledge of water treatment and chemical balancing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade qualification in plumbing, electrical, or a related technical field.
• Certification in pool/spa operations and maintenance.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience with building management systems (BMS).
• Prior experience in a luxury hotel or high-end spa facility.
