Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically fit Pallet Repairer to join our team in Mildura. This is a manual role crucial to our operations, involving the inspection, sorting, and repair of wooden pallets to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming pallets for damage, structural integrity, and quality defects.
- Sort pallets into categories (e.g., repairable, scrap, good to go).
- Perform manual repair of wooden pallets using various hand and power tools (e.g., hammers, nail guns, saws).
- Replace damaged boards, stringers, and blocks according to CHEP standards.
- Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including forklift (if certified) or pallet jack (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a manual labor or industrial environment.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with pallet repair or woodworking.
- Forklift license (LF) and experience operating a forklift.
- Understanding of supply chain or logistics operations.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new repair techniques and equipment.
