Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Music Producer (Assistant) to join our dynamic recording studio team in Ipswich. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about audio production, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to world-class music projects. You will work alongside experienced producers and engineers, gaining hands-on experience in all stages of the music production process, from tracking and editing to mixing and mastering. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead producers and engineers during recording, mixing, and mastering sessions.
- Set up and tear down microphones, instruments, and other recording equipment.
- Operate digital audio workstations (DAWs) to record, edit, and organize audio files.
- Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment, ensuring all gear is in optimal working condition.
- Organize and archive project files, session data, and sound libraries.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling, session prep, and client communication.
- Assist with vocal tuning, beat production, sound design, and other post-production tasks as needed.
- Ensure the studio environment is clean, organized, and conducive to creative work.
- Learn and adapt to new production techniques and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one major DAW (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live).
- Fundamental understanding of audio engineering principles (acoustics, signal flow, microphone techniques).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Basic knowledge of music theory and instrumentation.
- Problem-solving aptitude for technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Music Production, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous internship or assistant experience in a professional recording studio.
- Experience with various genres of music production.
