Job Description

Are you passionate about movies and providing exceptional customer service? Hoyts Cinemas in Belconnen is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Part-time Cinema Staff for our evening roster. In this dynamic role, you will be the face of Hoyts, ensuring every guest has an enjoyable and seamless cinematic experience from the moment they walk through our doors. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who love working in a fast-paced, fun environment and are available to work evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist guests with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Process ticket sales, food, and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of concession items, ensuring food safety standards are met.
  • Escort guests to their cinema screens and assist with seating as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in foyers, cinemas, and restrooms.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for your designated shift.
  • Operate cinema projection equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues (training provided).
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems accurately (training provided).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as per a rotating roster.
  • A genuine passion for movies and the cinema experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail role.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and hygiene practices.
