Job Description
We are looking for dedicated and reliable Parcel Sorters to join our night shift team at our Awapuni depot in Palmerston North. This is a crucial role within our logistics operation, ensuring that parcels are accurately sorted and dispatched for timely delivery. If you are a night owl with a strong work ethic and attention to detail, this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading national company with premium pay rates for your commitment. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided, but a willingness to learn and work hard is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently unload incoming parcels from trucks and containers.
- Accurately sort parcels based on destination codes and delivery routes.
- Scan and record parcel information using handheld devices.
- Load sorted parcels onto outbound vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet sorting deadlines.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift and move parcels up to 25kg repeatedly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Commitment to health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or sorting environment (though not essential).
- Forklift operator certificate (NZ F Endorsement) is a bonus.
- Knowledge of local geographical areas.
