Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Painter’s Offsider to join our team for clean industrial work in Toowoomba, QLD. This full-time role involves assisting experienced painters with surface preparation, cleaning, and general labour tasks within industrial settings. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety on various project sites. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in industrial painting and contribute to significant projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting painters with preparation of surfaces for painting, including cleaning, degreasing, and masking.
- Sanding, scraping, and minor patch repairs under supervision.
- Moving and setting up equipment, ladders, and scaffolding safely.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Mixing paints and coatings according to specifications.
- Performing general labour duties as required to support painting operations.
- Adhering to all site safety procedures and company policies.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transport to and from various work sites in the Toowoomba area.
- Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar industrial or construction environment.
- Basic knowledge of painting tools and techniques.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Forklift Licence (desirable).
