Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join our dynamic finance team in Parramatta. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records by managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing vendor and customer queries, and ensuring timely payments and collections. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of accounting principles looking to contribute to a large, reputable financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices and expense claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform daily reconciliation of accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payment runs.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and customers regarding payment status and inquiries.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero, MYOB).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Accounting or a related field.
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable role, ideally within a large corporate environment.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
