Job Description

As a Wood Waste Processor, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe processing of wood waste materials at our Ipswich recycling facility. This involves operating machinery, sorting materials, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of resource recovery and environmental protection. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina and attention to detail, working regular shifts to maintain consistent operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate processing equipment, including shredders, grinders, and material handlers, for wood waste.
  • Sort and separate different types of wood waste and other recyclable materials.
  • Conduct pre-shift checks and basic maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure all processing activities comply with site safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, loaders – if certified).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
