Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Subsea Engineer to join our dynamic team in Oxford. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer with limited experience to kick-start a rewarding career in the energy industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to the design, analysis, and operational support of subsea systems and equipment for complex offshore projects. This role offers hands-on experience, continuous learning, and exposure to cutting-edge subsea technology, all within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Subsea Engineers in the conceptual design, FEED, and detailed engineering phases of subsea projects.
  • Learn and apply engineering principles to the analysis and verification of subsea components and systems.
  • Support the preparation of technical specifications, reports, and documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews, hazard identification (HAZID), and risk assessment workshops.
  • Conduct data analysis and simulations using relevant engineering software.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of project schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including naval architects, mechanical engineers, and operations personnel.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and emerging subsea technologies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of engineering mechanics, materials science, and fluid dynamics.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and basic FEA tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of initiative and a strong desire to learn and develop.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Previous internship or project experience in the oil & gas, offshore, or renewable energy sectors.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API, DNV, or ISO.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for engineering applications.
