Job Description
Bunnings Warehouse is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Stores Assistant to join our dynamic team in Fortitude Valley. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in retail and logistics, offering a stable Monday to Friday schedule. As a Stores Assistant, you will be crucial to maintaining an organised and efficient store environment, ensuring our products are well-stocked, easily accessible, and presented to the highest standards. You will support daily store operations, assist with incoming and outgoing deliveries, and contribute to a safe and positive shopping experience for our customers. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn the ropes of a leading retail business, develop valuable skills, and be part of a supportive team committed to helping Australians with their home improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the receipt, unpacking, and storage of incoming goods.
- Organise and maintain the stockroom and sales floor, ensuring products are correctly shelved and accessible.
- Perform regular stock counts and assist with inventory management.
- Ensure the store environment is clean, tidy, and safe for both team members and customers.
- Assist customers with locating products and provide general support.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment safely, once trained (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and maintain a high standard of store presentation.

- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Physical capability to lift and move merchandise as required (up to 20kg).

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or warehouse environment (not essential as this is entry-level).
- Current forklift license (desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate).
- A passion for home improvement or customer service.
