Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Software Tester (QA) to join our dynamic tech startup in Barcelona. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge mobile and web applications. You will work closely with product managers, developers, and designers to identify, report, and track defects, contributing directly to the delivery of exceptional user experiences. This role is ideal for someone passionate about quality assurance, eager to grow within a fast-paced environment, and contribute to a product used by millions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionalities.
- Perform manual testing across various platforms (web, iOS, Android) to identify bugs, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with product and development teams to understand requirements and ensure testability of features.
- Document and report defects clearly and concisely, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure that quality standards are met before releases.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes and methodologies.
- Monitor application performance and provide feedback on potential improvements.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proven experience in manual testing of web and mobile applications.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Asana).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium).
- Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing principles.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or e-commerce environment.
