Job Description
G4S is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Monitoring Dispatcher to join our team in Oxford. This licensed role is crucial for maintaining our high standards of security and operational excellence, particularly during night shifts. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, responding to alarms, and dispatching security personnel or emergency services as required. This role demands a calm demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure to ensure the safety and security of our clients’ premises and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels, and other security feeds diligently.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to all alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
- Dispatch security officers, mobile patrols, and emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed incident logs, reports, and records.
- Communicate effectively with security personnel, clients, and emergency services.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls related to security inquiries and incidents.
- Adhere to all operational procedures and company policies.
- Perform regular checks and tests of security equipment as per protocol.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to field staff during incidents.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence – Door Supervisor or Security Guarding.
- Proven experience in a control room, dispatch, or security monitoring environment (minimum 1 year).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using CCTV, alarm monitoring software, and standard office applications.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Good geographical knowledge of Oxford and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience with advanced access control systems.
- Previous experience working night shifts in a security capacity.
- Higher education qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Criminology, Security Management).
