Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team in Salisbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional eager to kickstart a career in data analytics and business intelligence. You will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making across various departments. Working closely with senior analysts and stakeholders, you will contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting, helping to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and optimize business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, cleansing, and validation of large datasets from various sources.
- Perform descriptive data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using BI tools to visualize data insights.
- Support senior analysts in complex analytical projects and data modeling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
- Document data processes, definitions, and results clearly and concisely.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Continuously learn and apply new data analysis techniques and tools.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation).
- Basic understanding of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest in data analysis and business intelligence.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics) or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense).
- Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Prior internship or project experience in data analysis.
