Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Building Compliance Support professional to join our team within Local Government in Gungahlin, ACT. This role is crucial in assisting with the administration and enforcement of building regulations, ensuring that all constructions and developments adhere to established standards and legal requirements. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to the compliance team, manage documentation, respond to public inquiries, and contribute to the smooth operation of regulatory processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a keen interest in public service and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to building compliance officers and the wider team.
- Manage and maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems related to building applications and compliance cases.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, correspondence, and other documentation for compliance activities.
- Respond to inquiries from the public, builders, and other stakeholders regarding building regulations and compliance procedures via phone, email, and in person.
- Process and track incoming applications, complaints, and inspection requests.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and site visits for compliance officers.
- Conduct initial reviews of submitted documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Support the team in monitoring compliance deadlines and follow-up actions.
