Job Description
Join the Australia Post team in Maryborough as a Casual Afternoon Driver. This role is perfect for individuals seeking flexible work, typically during afternoon hours, to support our essential delivery operations. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting parcels and mail within Maryborough and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans or light trucks) for parcel and mail delivery.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently, ensuring items are secure for transit.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and Australia Post safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with recipients.
- Conduct pre-start checks on vehicles and report any maintenance issues.
Required Skills
- Current and valid Australian Driver's License (minimum C-class).
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, sometimes weighing up to 25kg.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or driving role.
- Knowledge of the Maryborough area and surrounding routes.
- Experience driving light commercial vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
