Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Stock and Station Agent to join our team, focusing on regional work within the Canberra and surrounding areas. This role is pivotal in connecting buyers and sellers of livestock and rural property, providing expert advice, and building strong client relationships. You will be responsible for managing sales, negotiating deals, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the sale and purchase of livestock (cattle, sheep, etc.) for clients, including yarding and auction preparation.
- List and sell rural properties, including conducting inspections and open homes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients through regular communication and site visits.
- Provide expert advice on market trends, livestock management, property values, and industry regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, contracts, and other sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Actively participate in local agricultural events and community activities to represent Elders.
- Ensure all sales and agency activities comply with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new business and promote listings.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in sales, negotiation, and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of the Australian agricultural sector, particularly livestock and rural property.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse workload in a regional setting.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Agribusiness, Rural Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Stock and Station Agent or in a similar rural sales role.
- Accreditation as an Auctioneer.
- Knowledge of local Canberra and surrounding regional markets and clientele.
