Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Council Community Helper to join our team, focusing on local area support within Ballarat. This role is crucial in assisting residents by connecting them with vital community resources, providing information, and offering practical support. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for many, requiring strong communication skills, a compassionate approach, and a genuine desire to help. You will work closely with various council departments and local organizations to ensure our community members receive the assistance they need, contributing directly to the wellbeing and cohesion of Ballarat.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with community members to understand their needs and provide appropriate information and support.
  • Assist residents in navigating council services and connecting with external community organizations.
  • Provide practical assistance and guidance on local resources, events, and programs.
  • Act as a liaison between the community and various council departments.
  • Document interactions and maintain accurate records to track community engagement and outcomes.
